The Month of Mary May 01st,2018

God wills that all his gifts should come to us through Mary” (St. Bernard)

It is the month in which we celebrate the motherhood of Mary. Mary, who by becoming the Mother of God, assumed a special role in our lives and became a mother to us all.

Mary is our loving mother. Her maternal heart is full of love and mercy for her beloved children. She is always waiting for us to turn to her for her motherly guidance. She constantly presents all our prayers to her dear son, Jesus. Mary is known as the “Gate of Heaven“. We need Mary to guide us to heaven so that we may not lose our way by falling into sin.

When we pray the Hail Mary, we ask our heavenly mother to intercede for us now and at the hour of our death. Yes, we need her powerful intercession during that fearful hour when all Hell itself will rise against us to grab our soul. Our merciful mother will help us during that fateful hour. We only need to pray to her without ceasing.

During the month of May—the month of Mary—we feel a special protection of Our Lady that extends to all the faithful; we feel a special joy that shines and illuminates our hearts expressing the universal certainty of Catholics that the indispensable patronage of our heavenly mother becomes even more tender, more loving and more full of visible mercy and exorable condescendence during her month of May.

“Compassion is the capacity for feeling what it is like to live inside somebody else’s skin. It is the knowledge that there can never really be any peace and joy for me until there is peace and joy finally for you too.”

Everyone is hard-pressed for time, makes it all the more important for us to take time out for a visit to our “Santhome Snehatheeram” Senior Citizens home near Thiruvallur. Father Manoj Karippai with Four Sisters take care the Home with 23 Old persons. Father Manoj Karippai took us around and introduced each individuals in the old age home.

We were greeted warmly there and we found out that all the elderly people were very jovial and full of life. We the youth of Little Mount Church served food and ate with them.

They shared their likes and dislikes with us and also made us laugh at their light-hearted jokes and also sang songs, danced to the tune which made them light and joy. They were all happy when we interacted with them. We got to that being old is not easy. We could actually see the pain and loneliness in each person’s eye. (Experience is everything)

It was wonderful to know that our presence could bring a smile to others faces. (Make Smiles)

Father Manoj Karippai thanked us for extending our support and helping hands and also asked our prayers to support which is most powerful weapons for the believers.

We also thank our parish priest Father Sanesh Thekkethala who gave full support by making this event an successful and meaning full visit for every youth.

Three Cheers to “Little Mount Youth Volunteers” who made their days. (Proud to Belong)
